We were reading The Story of Science by Joy Hakim, and we read about how people living in early civilizations wondered why there was an earth, and why there were stars, and things like that. They didn't have Science, so they just looked up at the sky and the earth and made up stories about them. I decided to think up some big questions of my own:
- Why are there stars?
- How is the Earth made?
- Why are there human beings living on Earth?
- Why are there animals?
- Why are there plants?

One day the Rainbow Goddess, Alyssa, looked down into the empty nothingness and said "There needs to be something." So she said "Let there be Earth!" and there it was, and she said "Let there be Water," and there it was.
Then she called to all the little wisps of smoke that there were in the universe and said "Cover the Earth." Then the wisps of smoke turned into Cloud Giants.
Then she said "The Earth is too dark." so she called to her friend the Goddess of the Light and the Goddess of the Light said "I will call to one of my companions, and it will be the Sun and light the day sky." and so there was day. "I will call another one of my companions, and it will be the Moon and light the night." Then she said "I will take pieces off of all the cloud giants and send them high into the sky, and there will be stars." And no sooner had she said this, but it was done.
Then the Rainbow Goddess said "there needs to be something on Earth, let there be animals" Then she looked down on the earth and all the little animals looked up at her and said "we need something to eat!" The Rainbow Goddess made plants, and the animals said "Thank you. We need names." Then the Rainbow Goddess said to one little furry creature with a long, bushy tail "Come forward with all of your kin and children and family, you are squirrell. You climb trees and you eat nuts, that is what you do." and they said "Thank you! "
Then she said to a very small, little grey creature "Come forward. Your name is Mouse. You will hide under the ground, make little burrows, and call them your home." And all the mice said "Thank you!" and went off to do just that.
Then she said to a larger creature with a graceful, waving tail "Come forward. You are Cat. Your job is to hunt mouse and make sure that they do not get too brave, for right now there is nothing to oppose them." The cat said "Thank you." and they all went off to sit before one of the mouse holes and wait.
Then she said to one creature with long, green tail with pointy, jagged teeth "Your name is Crocodile. Your job is to swim in the water and eat fish." Then Crocodile swam to the edge of the pond and waited.
Then she called to all of the creatures of the water, with their long scaly tails and said "You are Fish, Your job is to swim in the water, and avoid Crocodile." The fish swam right into the middle of the pond and hid under rocks.
She kept doing this until every animal on the whole of the earth had a job and a name. Then she noticed all the animals except fish and mouse were getting very out of hand, so she pulled up mud from the banks of the river and made people. Then she said "You are people, your job is to hunt the animals. Your job is to keep cats in your home. Your job is to build houses. Your job is to make fires. You are people, with the most jobs. You must make sure that everything stays on track."
And with that, she went back into the sky and arched herself over everything.

I went to Ta Ra Rin with my mom, dad and monkey. I think it is a six star restaurant, yes my rating does go up to six stars.
Walking into the restaurant, a wave of good smells crashed over me. I felt very excited and hungry. When the staff saw kids walking in, they seemed friendly and happy that the kids like the restaurant. We were seated very quickly. They thought monkey was pretty silly, and brought her a special covered cup and a flower plate. I did feel a little jealous about that at first, but then I got to feeling a bit superior when they gave me a grown-ups' cup and plate, because I am older.
Here's a list of what we ordered: Golden Salad Rolls, Pad Thai with Shrimp and Lemongrass Curry Noodle, medium.
I like the Golden Salad Rolls and their sauce. They are crispy on the outside, but the vegetables still have color. They taste fresh and look fresh also. The sauce is sweet and spicy and very good. It's sort of like honey with some spicy stuff in it.
I think the Lemongrass Curry Noodle was very spicy, so I didn't have very much of that. Mom and Dad liked it. There were vegetables and some spicy coconut sauce. It came with some very excellent chicken, yum!
Pad Thai was not spicy at all. It's kind of sticky in a good way, and tastes salty and a little bit sweet. The shrimp were succulent, my favorite seafood.
Mom and Dad had Jasmine tea. Monkey and I tasted it, we thought it was good.
The sevice was prompt, the waitress was very cheerful. It seemed like she was having a good time at the restaurant.
Ta Ra Rin is a very good place to go with kids. The food is quite good, and the service is fast and friendly.
